How do I get started?
Step 1 is to purchase the game. All the information you need can be
found
here on this
page at rfactor.net. The best way to purchase is through Paypal as I find
this method quick, easy and secure. The price is Aust $55.
Does it cost anything to join Ausfactor?
No, we are a completely free gaming community. We are racers just like
you and many people help out for the good of the game and community.
Is Ausfactor kid friendly?
Yes, we hold a strict G rating in all our servers and forum. The reason
for this is that we have many father/son combinations that race and the last
thing families want to read is some punk typing swear words in a chat, we find
this type of behaviour quiet lame and of little point.
Where do I find Tracks?
We get most of our tracks
from rfactor Central. The address is
www.rfactorcentral.com however you
must be a member and there is a limit on daily downloads.
How do I join a League?
Easy, just fill out a registration form on the Ausfactor main site, the link
is on the main page at
www.ausfactor.com.
Once this is done you should receive a confirmation email and you are entered.
To make it easy on us, ensure you identify your race name on the form so we can
match the registration to your game name in the server.
When is league races on?
We race Sunday and Monday nights with some other leagues coming online on a
Wednesday and Friday nights. All our leagues kick off at 8:00pm and
10:00pm Ausfactor time. There is a clock on the front page for you to sync
your local time with, however we run races on the East Coast at 8:00pm and again
at 10:00pm on the West Coast. This means that if your in Western
Australia, you get to race in a local time zone.
I want to request a certain mod, will Ausfactor run a league for this mod?
Maybe, We try to run a different mod every season. With 3 seasons per
year, that gives us the opportunity to run allot of different mods. Best
idea is to place a request in the forum and see what feedback it gets, if there
is demand we will run it.
Can I race in the servers without being in a league?
Of course, you are welcome to race in the server anytime you like.
Does Ausfactor have any rules?
Yes we do. We ask that you keep a G rating in mind with everything that
you say and do. Unlike First Person Shooting servers, we are not a
bunch of ego maniac cowboys with un-moderated servers. We want people of
all ages to come and have fun and race in a competitive manner while maintaining
a family orientated behaviour. We also have a racing rule set that can be
found on a link of the main ausfactor website at
www.ausfactor.com
Can I book a server for some friends to run a specific mod?
Yes you can, just email admin at ausfactor dot com and we will set it
up for you. remember to include the mod you would like, a server name and
password and give us 24 hours notice.
How do I install Mods?
Mods generally come in 2 different formats.
1. A self installing executable (Mod_Name.exe) that you simply run and install
automatically.
2. Zipped up files (Mod_Name.zip) that you can unzip into the rfactor folder.
or manually click and drag the files into the appropriate place.
Generally a mod will contain files and folder that are placed in the \rFactor\GameData
directory adn the \rFactor\rFm directory. I recommend you
familiarise yourself with the game files as this will be helpful
